The Home Ranch Today

Close of winter season 2007 - 2008

Monday, March 31st, 2008

The Home Ranch would like to thank all of our guests for a great 2007-08 winter season.  With over 400 inches of snow this year we had the best snow in many years and it is still falling!  The last few mornings we have awoken to four inches of snow, and it is currently still snowing.

Thank you for all of the memories that you created for our staff, we are all hoping to see you again and look forward to the next time we get to visit.

Next year will be very similar with cross country skiing, snowshoeing, horseback riding, Clyde’s great meals and downhill skiing in nearby Steamboat.

Until then we are looking forward to a very busy summer and fall.  If you want a little more time in the saddle with Karen and Tayler give me a call, we still have room in June and September.

Wildflower and Nature Abound In June

Rocky Mountain Hiking in Colorado WildernessGlaicer lillies, blue bells, budding aspen trees and lush green meadows surround The Home Ranch each June.  With roaring streams in the valley and snow capped mountains surrounding you there is not better place than Clark, Colorado for a June vacation.

This year will be no exception, with 450 inches of snow this year Steamboat is bound to Snow capped Sand Mountain near Steamboat Springs in Junehave a green spring.  As the wildflowers grow the birds return.  You can spot a Sandhill Cranes nesting in the meadows and hear their calls early in the morning.  The Mule deer are sure to grab a bite to eat from Joanie’s vegetable or flower gardens and Creek Crossing during June Hike with Home Ranch Hiking guidehopefully pose for a snapshot on a morning stroll through the ranch.

Horseback riding and hiking offer breathtaking vistas around each turn in the trail.  This is also a great time to increase your wildflower and wildlife knowledge, let our hiking guide or wranglers help you.

Horses of The Home Ranch, Clark Colorado Bonnie Reed compiled photos of her last two years here at The Home Ranch.  Bonnie was a wrangler for two years and was able to capture the horses in their natural environment while gathering them in each morning.  We hope that you enjoy this as much as we all have.
