The Home Ranch trail system will be open to locals and Steamboat vistors March 30 - April 6th, we will be closed April 2nd.  You may join us for lunch and cross country skiing or snowshoeing on our 25km of groomed trails.  The cost is $25.00 per person, this includes lunch, ski pass, rentals, tax and gratuity. What a winter we’re having!  The roads to Denver may be closed today, but flights are arriving into Hayden and the trails are freshly groomed.

The Steamboat ski area is reporting 10 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, which brings our total this year to 363 inches of beautiful Champagne Powder! There is a  winter snow warning in effect until 6:00am tomorrow - this means more great snow, they are predicting 4 - 7 inches of accumulation for tonight.

The new and returning guests are amazed at how each new inch of snow can transform the landscape and change the trail conditions.  It is so peaceful and relaxing to watch the snow fall, whether you are outside playing or inside sitting by the fire. 

What a winter we are having at The Home Ranch!  With above average snowfall this year and bluebird skies life doesn’t get much better at this Relais & Chateaux ski lodge. 

 Yesterday a group of staff went out to enjoy the warm temperatures and perfect conditions.  A few of us tried our hand at telemark skiing down the tubing hill; it was hard not to want to make first tracks.   The guests had a great time as well; they too were making first tracks with ski guide, Mike Braal, on the other side of the ranch.  

After a day of skiing you work up quiet an appetite, dinner and a glass of wine are a must!  We all traded stories and enjoyed a great meal prepared by Tercel & Chris.  We are hoping for another day just like yesterday.
