Summer in Colorado
Each week dude ranch guests and Home Ranch staff enjoy the exciting and beautiful opportunities that the Colorado Rockies offer. Below you are photos of the most recent trips that we have all enjoyed!

Spring run off on the way to Three Island Lake, a six mile round trip hike. There are a few stream crossings on the way, but none that get your feet wet. The hike to Three Island is not only beautiful, but offers a great fishing opportunity once you are there. A few guests enjoy taking their fishing rod along, in hopes of catching lunch, but don’t worry if you don’t get anything, the chefs will pack you a sack lunch - just to be safe.

sous chef Zach Holly were able to take a day hike in hopes of summiting Mount Zirkle. A lightening storm hampered thier efforts, so they spent some extra time at Gold Lake. As you can see Gold creek is running high and fast - allowing for lots of fishing and rafting opportunities down stream on the Elk River. Gold Lake is about a 4 mile hike, and is part of the famous 11 mile Zirkle Circle that guests are able to hike during their stay at The Home Ranch.

Gareth, Luke and Hilary we able to try their hand a fly fishing at the pond behind the lodge as well as on the Elk while they were at the ranch last week. The river is beginning to slow down and allow for increased fishing opportunities.
