Natural Horsemanship Clinic - Weanling Week

weanlings-011-17.jpg

We are excited to welcome Gord Jessiman back in 2008 for another exciting week. Gord will be here September 14 - 21. It is going to be a wonderful week at The Home Ranch. Curt Pate may also be at the ranch at the end of the week to ride with and provide you with tips to improve your horsemanship.

This is a week filled with learning, laughing and love. Each September Gord Jessiman brings down about 30 four-month old horses from Canada. It is the guests of The Home Ranch that get to interact with these babies for the first time; teaching them how to lead and how to trust. The babies are then sold at an auction to horse enthuasists on September 20, 2008.

The Home Ranch will continue to offer horseback riding, hiking and fishing during this week. The amount that you participate in any activity is up to you. If you are interested in attending or would like to be added to our mailing list to receive a catalog please give us a call, 970-879-1780, or drop us an email, info@homeranch.com.

Below are some comments that we have received from past buyers and owners of these spectacular horses.  If you would like to share your experiences, please email them to us.

“I found your information while doing some random surfing.  I just
thought that I’d get in touch with you, as I realized that I have a horse that probably came from your sale originally.  His sire is Ice Caper and his dam is Jewel.  His name is Guinness and he is registered under the Performance Horse Registry as Its Good for You.  I just thought you might be interested in him and what he’s doing.

I bought him from a dressage trainer just before he turned 3.  I am an eventer and originally worked with him with help, from a dressage trainer.  I have been working, more recently, with jumping trainers and now another advanced level eventer.  Guinness went on to compete and place 4th in the Young Event Horse competition at the Colorado Horse Park,  I was so proud of him.  He also has done several schooling dressage shows, in which he has always placed.

He gets noticed by riders and trainers everywhere he goes.  He is a
brave cross country horse and a talented dressage horse.  Most of all, he has an
amazing mind.”  ~ Heide Andersen

”Nati is working out great.  He’s had a pretty easy time of it though.  My husband road him a bit last fall until the weather got bad and then he has had the whole winter off.  I’m sure he’ll get him going again soon this spring.  Are you all selling any more 2 or 3 year olds this fall at the sale?  We are hoping to come down again this year.  Have a good summer!”  ~ Anna
